3.During this TED presentation Eli starts off by saying how he, like the majority of the world thought that the invention of the internet was meant for connection and surely would be beneficial for democracy and society as a whole. He began to realize that there was an invisible shift that had taken place and this shift could potentially cause a lot of problems. Through his example when two separate men Google the same thing and got different results he was able to show that the internet has begun to show us what it thinks we want to see, but not necessarily what we need to. He goes on to say that there’s this sort of filter bubble that determines what gets in and what is filtered out depending on who we are and what we want to see.

2.Barack Obama campaign's use of social networking tools.
Prior to reading this article, I had no idea that Barack Obama's campaign relied so heavily on the use of the internet and social networking tools. I thought that his popularity and success came from the fact that people could relate to him and his extremely positive approach to everything. I never realized that his website www.my.barackobama.com was so successful and influential on his campaign. In addition, I was unaware of Howard Dean's use of these internet sources and his money-raising success.

Network can be addicting fictitious society for young people.  On the internet, people can make any kind of ideas. It used to be a large world hidden from parents and teachers, but in present day, parents and teachers have become more involved due to "the social implications of this new connectedness and the “generation gap” that it has created." There have been many cases of sexual predators using the internet as a way of tricking teens or young children into physically meeting them with the parent's knowledge. Some teens even provide inappropriate pictures or videos on the internet without a parent's consent. This creates dangerous problems for parents as they constantly worry about their children's safety.
